Butterflies and Flowers

Image
Today I'm sharing another of my samples made for the new For The Love Of Stamps launch, and for this one I've created a very girly card!

I have used the Butterfly Wishes and Floral Favourites stamps on this one. With these stamp sets, there are also matching Hunkydory Moonstone dies (Beautiful Butterflies and Fabulous Flowers) so that you can die cut out your stamped images, making it super easy. The sentiment and flourish stamps are both from the Butterfly Wishes stamp set. I have shaped both the flowers, leaves and butterflies by hand to give some dimension.

I have used Hunkydory Adorable Scorable Matt-Tastic card, FTLOS white ink me! card, FTLOS midnight black superior stamping card and some vellum for the bottom layer of the flowers. I have stamped with black Versafine ink and dusty concord Distress Ink and I also added some white Nuvo drops to finish. The finished size is 7"x7".

Crafty Catz Challenge - Clean and Simple

Image
Hello all, thanks for stopping by today and for any comments you leave. The weather here is beautiful at the moment - very warm and sunny - hope it's nice too wherever you are. It's time for our new challenge over at Crafty Catz, and this week our theme is anything goes with the optional twist of "Clean and Simple". A Day For Daisies are sponsoring us this time, and I have used the super cute Little Striped Dress digi stamp to create this simple notebook.

I added a white panel to the front of the blue notebook (I sanded some of the shiny surface off the front of the notebook first so that the glue could adhere properly). I have coloured the stamp in using Spectrum Noir alcohol pens, fussy cut it out and added it to the notebook with foam pads. Not sure I am entirely happy with how the balloons came out as I've never tried colouring translucent images like this before - more practice is needed!

For The Love Of Stamps New Launch

Image
Hunkydory's For The Love Of Stamps are launching their new stamps, masks and magazine today on Create and Craft TV. There are 10 new stamp sets, 10 new masks and the new issue 10 of the magazine (which features some of my projects). Today I'm sharing one of my samples made using the Bee Happy stamp set that comes free with the magazine. These stamps are so cute!

I created a hexagon shaped card blank by hand. The striped paper is from the FTLOS splendid stripes perfect backgrounds stamping pad. I coloured the stamped images in using Spectrum Noir alcohol pens, and decoupaged the jar of honey by stamping the elements multiple times, cutting them out and layering them up to give depth. The dotty border was done using one of the stamps from the set.

Crafty Catz Challenge - Colours of Spring

Image
It's Friday again which means we have a new challenge for you over at Crafty Catz. This week our theme is anything goes with the option of colours of spring. Lacy Sunshine is our sponsor this week, and I have used the gorgeous Rory's Wisteria digi stamp for this card.

A super simple card for this one, but using colours I don't usually put together - purple and yellow. I thought they were perfect spring colours though. I coloured the image with Spectrum Noir Colourblend pencils then matted onto some purple card then onto my white card blank. I just love this image as you can keep the card really simple like I have here and it still looks good.

Home MDF Plaque

Image
Hello all, hope you had a good Easter and didn't eat too much chocolate! It was a shame the weather was so rubbish but at least it was perfect crafting weather.
Today I'm sharing a homemade MDF plaque. This was something a bit different for me but I really enjoyed making it.

The papers are from Hunkydory's Garden Treasures matt-tastic adorable scorable. I chose not to paint or prime the blank MDF shape as the brown tone matched well with the kraft card. The topper is made using Sue Wilson's Bermuda dies.

The flowers were cut using Hunkydory's fabulous flowers Moonstone dies, and the butterfly is from Hunkydory's beautiful butterflies Moonstone dies. The kraft leaves were cut using Sue Wilson's olive branch dies. I have hand-written the sentiment.

Crafty Catz Challenge - Use Old Stash

Image
It's time for our new challenge to start today over at Crafty Catz, and this week our theme is anything goes with the optional twist of "use old stash".  Scrap n dipity is our generous sponsor this week, and I have used one of their lovely digi stamps for this card.

I have coloured with Spectrum Noir alcohol pens and added some gloss accents to the glasses and buttons (some of my very old stash - I bought it years ago from a craft show and it never seems to run out!). The gorgeous papers are from Hunkydory's Garden Treasures range (some from the 8"x8" paper pad and some are from the Adorable Scorable cardstock collection). The with love stamp is from the For The Love Of Stamps Sweet Wishes set, and the butterflies are from the Garden Treasures Bright and Beautiful and A Work Of The Heart stamp sets. I have added a die cut doily, some crochet lace and some Nuvo pearl drops to finish.
Thanks for stopping by today and for any comments you leave. I'm out at…
